I enjoy working with the changing light of the outdoors and on this day we were lucky to have blue skies after a long grey winter. This was so uplifting and I quickly sketched out the composition in diluted raw umber oil paints and noted where the shadows fell before indulging myself in the bright colours coming through the trees and outlining the bandstand.
