I was blessed to spend several off-the-grid days painting in Montana's Red Rock Lakes National Wildlife Refuge. The remote area is home to elk, pronghorn, grizzlies, swans, meadowlarks...a magical pristine place! I based this studio painting on smaller plein air oil pieces done during a September adventure.
