The First Surf

A plein air painting done on location in Lima, Peru. This was done in the early morning, as surfers and sunbathers were setting up their umbrellas for the day. I focused mainly on all the different colored umbrellas and folks walking down the beach. The sun was extremely bright that day, so I had to work quickly to make sure the paint stayed nice and wet. My Spanish wasn't very good, but I was able to practice what I knew with the locals on the beach.
