Weathered but Still Sturdy

I was drawn to the bright sunshine on this working shrimp boat, framed as it was by the rigging and lines of the boats on either side of me. This is a plein air watercolour from the MillPond at Apalachicola. When I see fishing boats that have been working for a long time I feel compelled to paint them, as I know that everything has its season and some day these boats will no longer sail.
