Of all the places I have painted, Big Sur ranks up in the top three, for purity of color, vibrancy of natural elements, abundant sealife, contrasts of color, and gentleness of atmosphere. Inspiration for this piece is the Point Lobos State Natural Reserve. This painting is about those characteristics and contrasts that make up, what I consider to be, the Jewel of the California State Park system.
