I painted following a field trip this last September to Sun Canyon Lodge with the Montana Painter’s Alliance group. We spent several days exploring the Sun River Canyon north west of Augusta, MT and painting en-Plein Air. The colors of the Aspen and Cottonwoods when the foliage was backlit by the sun was stunning. The early morning light as it came over the mountain ridge and stuck the foliage on the trees was beautiful and I stopped to do a small study on the spot.
